I'm posting this thinking that since we work in the technology/electronic industry most of us are (or should be) science minded and reality based. Doing things like trouble-shooting an install requires a good grasp of logic and the science behind electricity and electronics. Even though a properly programmed Crestron touch panel is indistinguishable from magic (props to Arthur C. Clarke) it isn't magic at all. Nor is it wishful thinking. All of the engineers, designers, manufacturers, software developers, inventors and so on, use aspects of science to achieve the results that wow our clients.
