The skinning will remain the same, although you can anticipate VGA support eventually. There is no reason we cannot keep full compatibility with the current skin style. It is one of the many flexibilities afforded by using this kind of mask system; we have a lot of flexibility in coding the core when there is such a simple and standardized (from our perspective) way of interacting with the UI.
Unfortunately (for the skins) or fortunately (for
my bank account), I'm working on a paid interface
design project that has spent much of my pixel
pushing reserves. I do hope to tinker with it
ASAP, though.
As soon as you come up with something I would love to see it!
