FWIW, some of the beta testers are playing with
the new build that supports RC5 codes, and it
appears to work well. I _think_ we just crossed
the last barrier to eclipsing TVRC. Gotta love
it. :)

Will the skinning remain the same? Should I hold off on creating any until version 3.0?
Unfortunately (for the skins) or fortunately (for my bank account), I'm working on a paid interface design project that has spent much of my pixel pushing reserves. I do hope to tinker with it ASAP, though.
