Daniel brings up a good point (as well as an excellent review). In my initial design I started out with lots of hidden long press and double-click commands, but quickly backed out of too extensive a use. I still have some, but more restrictive than originally I was planning.

I'm thinking of putting a long-press macro under the Mute as a panic button that will pause every device that's pausable, for those phone call interruptus moments where the mute would let the source continue running.

Others are the use of long-press for slow or normal for fast, and combining cursor and transport on the menu hard buttons. The key is to be uniform throughout the devices, which can be a compromise.

I just wish I had something with which to try these things out on :-(.
