Assuming Frank is talking about a H/K receiver, the exact same problem has been reported before in the Take Control and Pronto forums. It's not a problem with the remote, really, but rather a problem with the receiver. I'd suggest an IR repeater system of some sort (with a transmitting eye right over the H/K's sensor).
