My suggestion would be to skip the 232 unless there is something special only in the serial config of the pioneer. Go IR, the plasmas respond to Pro projection discreet commands and if you don't want to stick the emitter on the front for cosmetic reasons try one of the following :
1. If you have other Pioneer equipment in the system (ie a dvd or receiver) put the emitter on that and use the SR out of that to the SR in on the pioneer.
2. Use the Xantech SR adapter. Run a mini plug from the IRF6 to the adapter and another out of the adapter to the SR in jack of the pioneer.
