Regarding the digit display... this would likely take much effort until two way communication is a reality with RTI. Unless someone else has a better idea you could always use flags and as many pages as there are digit combination possibilities :).
This, of course, could be manageable if you were dialing only a few predetermined numbers.
Regarding the 232... I am not sure what experience you may have with RS232 but it should be very easy with the RTI software.
Create your button that you desire to use for a given string and make sure the output is not set to standalone mode. Right click >> edit properties >> select RS232 tab >> input proper parameters and 232 string. Make sure your routing is correct as well. You can enter the information in either hex (simple 2 digit hex numbers) mode or standard ASCII mode (\x preceeding each hex number and ASCII characters entered with no pre or postfix.)
