On my netstreams system I use an older Dell Axim PDA for wireless control of the digilinx system. It works great and really don't need much more screen real estate. I would think for a quick check of cameras that something like that would work as well.

Something of that size is also better to carry around the house.

HP still makes a few non-phone PDAs and Nokia has the older N700 and newer N800, which are internet devices. Haven't tried the Nokias, but they come with a flash capable Opera browser.
