Hello - well, thanks to all who posted in the other RS232 threads. I'm learning quite a lot from the other posts, and trying to wrap my head around it all! I have figured most of it out, and successfully have commands working in the system. Here's what I've got so far (and this system is being used as a test bed only for now).

So what's the problem? POWER ON! I have powered the unit up initially with IR, and I am now able to play, stop, pause, etc. with RS232 - and power off. The big issue is, I cannot power ON with RS232... it will not respond at all, nor will it respond to Open/Close or Play when unit is in standby. The RS232 spec states that it will respond to these commands when unit is in standby. Unit is not hard-switched off, and I have tried all this after turning unit off via RS232.

Any ideas?
