Am I the only one who's confused about getting discretes into the MX-500 with via a Radio Shack 4 in One (15-2114)? I'm stuck at square one, entering them into the 4 in 1.

Entered the device code for my Panasonic VCR in the 4-in-1. The VCR will respond (power, etc), so the device code is correct. Now for the discretes (I'm trying them all, so start at 001) with the VCR power on:

1. Press VCR decive
2. Push Set up button (one red blink)
3. Enter first digit (0) (shows up on TV screen)
4. Ditto for second digit (0)
5. Enter third digit (1) and hold

The channel changes to 1. The remote seems to xmit each number rather than wait and send the whole command. Does this remote not support this function?
