First post.....
I have a one year old MX-500 and have never had a learning problem until now. I just recently purchased a new Pioneer VSX-1014 receiver to replace my Pioneer VSX-D712.
My remote does not want to learn the A/V's listening mode commands and the commands that require a "shift" key to be pressed first.
I.E. to turn on dialog enhancement on the Pioneer I have to press "shift" hold and "dialog E". The strange thing is when I try and learn the listening modes and the "shift + commands", the MX-500 says "good". But, when I try it out on the A/V, it won't work!
The other commands it will learn.
With my old Pioneer receivers remote, I had no problems learning all the keys.
I have tried everything I can think of, and even called Home Theater Master who suggested I send them bith remotes so they could figure it out.

Plz help!!!

Thanx Gov
