The TX-1000 does indeed use 4 AA batteries, and
as for the size... It is 5 3/8" Wide by 6 1/2"
long. It is kind of wedge shaped being 1" tall
at the side nearest you, and 1 5/8 at the side
farthest from you during use.
Just for the record the name aegina has gone away,
it is now known as "Medius"
