I read the owners manual for this remote and it looks like it is more powerful than the MX-850. The MX-900 can handle up to 40 devices with 40 pages for each compared to the MX-850's 20 devices wth 4 pages for each. The MX-900 is supposed to have 8 megs of memory. I am not sure what the MX-850 has.
I have a couple of questions relating to the back lighting:
1. Will any button on the remote activate the back lighting or can it only be activated by pressing the side button?
2. The manual indicates that you can change the back lighting color. If this is true, what are the color choices?
Final Comment: I like this remote. I think I can live with the 6 menu display in order to obtain a remote that is more comfortable to use. I like having the rewind, play and fast forward hard buttons placed closer together especially when I am skipping commercials for programs recorded on my Sony DVD/HDD recorder or on my VCR.
