I have now found a Marantz IR code in the Marantz DVD section of the database that actually works with most of the buttons. It's called [MARANTZ 3] and it's second from the bottom of that section. Eureka!!

However, there are still a couple of glitches. The S MODE button actually contains the code that's found on the "SEARCH" button on the OEM remote (and there's no SEARCH button in the IR database code set. There's also no DISPLAY button in that code set. So, it appears, now, that that only buttons I need are:

S MODE
SEARCH
DISPLAY
and discrete ON & OFF

If you could help me with those, I think I'll be okay.
