That's very interesting. Are you saying that if you get a newer HR10-250 that is functioning properly and has a newer processor that it will operate almost as fast as SD DVR?
I had a Dish Network 510 SD DVR, before I switched to Direct TV one month ago, and it operated at the same speed as my Dish 301 receivers. I saw none of the menu issues that I see with the Tivo. I would say the Tivo takes two or more seconds to load the "TV Guide" on the screen. It then takes about the same amount of time to load/refresh the next screen when I push the "Page Up/Page Down" button.
It is what I would consider Painfully Slow!
