Does it have a lot of programs stored? And season passes? These will slow it down. Another thing that slows them down is if both tuners are showing HD channels. For best speed, set tuners to SD channels if they aren't busy doing something you want on an HD channel.

The problem is the processor simply isn't capable of handling the massive HD bandwidth and large hard drive at a good speed. Poor design.
