Here is the picture that you need to find out if your cable is in good condidtion. I know some people that does have a multi meter in my area that would let me use theirs just for something simple like this. Like a car stereo installation place, or a radio shack. They might just let you use to to find out if the cable is good or bad. Just make sure that you go in with this picture, or at least a note of what pin goes where on the cable.
