Your first AC unit sounds like it is 220v based on your description of the plug configuration. We have them in 15 and 20 amp versions.

Your other AC unit must be 110v if you can plug it into a standard X-10 appliance module. This module is rated at 15 amps. Check your AC power draw to see if it is more than 15 amps. If it is, you should not use this module. There are other alternatives for higher amperage but they require direct wiring rather than plug in.

If you AC unit is not drawing more than 15 amps, it sounds like your appliance module might be shot. You might consider an appliance module with AGC as they seem to be built a little better than the less expensive variety.
