Howdy,

I have a couple of Air Conditioners that I want to automate, and I am a little confused about the safty level of doing so.

One of the 2 AC units needs the heavy duty appliance module because it's plug has a different configuration than a normal 3 prong plug. That one I am assuming will be fine.

My worry is about my small air conditioner that uses a normal 3 prong plug. I plugged it into an X-10 appliance module I picked up at radio shack, and everything seemed to work perfectly. That night I got a little cold so I turned it off and I noticed a flash. It looks like there is a large spark/arcing thing that happens inside the X-10 module when I try to turn it off. It was very duplicatable and I am worried that it may start a fire or something so I have stopped using it.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am hoping that it is just a cheap X-10 module and that I just need to pick up a different model or something.

Thanks!!

Will
