Well, I had more time last night to program the iconremote.
Now it might be because I'm a newbie to a truely universal
remote, but I think this thing is great. The features
that didn't work on the TV and Audio modes can be programmed
in learn mode. You just override the setting that was
assigned by the default code to any key you want. As well,
you can control other equipment when in a specific device.
Eg. when I am watching a DVD, I programmed the Vol up,
Vol dn, Mute for my reciever when in the DVD mode. This
eliminates switching between devices to perform certain
tasks. No lockups this time, I guess it must of been some
combination of keycodes yesterday.
Hamiltonjim - I just wanted to echo your sentiment. I am not a newbie and I was truly impressed by the iconRemote. Before I opened the box I was fully expecting to not like it but it was very easy to set-up and use. I even created Macros labelled "Watch TV" and "Watch DVD" to mimic the Harmony functionality. Unfortunately these are toggle only macros but for a play room remote at just over $100 it does the job!
