Uhm, did you get any software or a USB cable with the ICON?

Usually connection to a computer is for:
1. Backing up your current configuration, so you don't have to redo it should the ICON lose it.
2. Software upgrades, usually downloaded from the manufacturer's web site.
3. Artwork. If a TV network changes their logo, you get new icons (downloaded from the internet) this way.

Of course none of the above may relate to your ICON remote. Perhaps there's simply the potential for it to be used as a temporary data storage device. If it's got a speaker (does it beep?) it might be usable to play MP3 files! Wouldn't that be great! ;-)
