Badger, Most, if not all, receivers have a method of adjusting the levels. Some have individual adjustment via a scroll list. Others want you to first set the main L/R balance, then 'bring' the others 'in line' with the mains.
This process is best done with a SLP meter and a 'tuning' aid such as the Avia DVD. Since most would only do this a few times a year, why bother with the Pronto?
If your speakers fall outside the 'imaginary circle', make sure the receiver you get has the capability of adding delay time for the center and rears.

I recently upgraded my receiver, and the two most valuable features the new one has that the old one did not are: 1) 'Center' channel graphic equalizer. 2) Low level outputs for each 'main' channel, in addition to the xx.1 for the sub.
