I think the DD-18 is a Velodyne. Perhaps he meant
he's driving it with Krell amps.
Sorry, I just came back from Australia on a businness trip and noticed the mistake I had made on my thread. At first I was concentrating in buying 2 used Velodyne DD-18 with a Krell stereo amp which I went to check them out and they sounded outstanding, but I ended up with 2 Sunfire super Junior which are just as good.
