Speaking from my own experience, I know the parts
involved in putting together one of their speaker
systems. I guess the reason I dislike them is
the fact they take $50 worth of parts and charge
$1500 for the system. BartJSimpson hit the nail
right on the head when he said there are better
speakers out there for the money.
This kind of greed is standard business practice for Bose. Where else can you buy a HTIB for 4 grand! I USE to have a contract with the Bose factory stores(hey I was just trying to get to more high end customers!) doing thier installations. At first they paid us around 60% of what the customer paid at the store. When I got the new contract in the mail that dropped us down to 40%, I called the rep and said no thanks. Example: Plasma, with theater install thier take: $1,550, our take $625. After the customer paid over $1,500 at the store, they were not very receptive to upsells.
