Brian, did you try using code #182 for the SL-2000? I, too, have a Kenwood VR-209 and that's the code they (the company) told me to use with the receiver when I was doing research today.
If it doesn't work, let me know -- cause I want to purchase a *true* Universal Remote that works with my Kenwood receiver.
