There's a simple new way to build a jp1 interface,
available at this site, that uses just a DB25
connector, one resistor, one diode, and a cable.
It's a great way to back up your remote's memory,
and gives you the ability to highly customize
the remote.

Where's this schematic at? I'd be very interested in this. :) I scoured the group, did a search for JP1 cable's and schematics, and so forth but with little luck.

Btw, I work at Radio Shack myself, and for a LONG time I had NO clue that this much stuff could be done with the 1994. I was just simply looking for a device code that I was hoping someone else had. I almost bought the Producer for $100, now I'm looking into a JP1 cable. :)

I presented this webpage to my manager. His response was, "Don't tell the customers this." I asked why, he said, "Cover your assests my friend... If they do this, and reverse that JP1 cable, and fry the remote, *_WE_* have to replace it. And I don't have the money to replace $30 remotes on a whim of your advice to jackass's that can't understand what your telling them. And we have had some major jackass's come in. the majority of the customers will understand, and take it at there own risk, but the old farts that come in here are a different story."

Anyways... thanx for all your help in advance.
