After reading this thread and the related sites mentioned, I went and bought the RS 15-1994 remote. Wow, this is great. I had it learn every key I wanted from the new DishPlayer remote style, but I ran out of memory. I tried the 980 to clear memory first, and was able to learn about 32 keys.

My question is, has anyone contacted Radio Shack tech support to see if this remote can be updated with the "1005" remote code for the DishPlayer? Then I can use the advanced codes for most of the keys instead of having to "learn" the keys. This would allow me to use the learning for other non supported devices.

I was told that the "1005" code is now available for another Universal Electronics remote.
