I am trying to find a good inexpensive universal remote for my home system. I have a Sanyo TV, Panasonic & Technics audio and video components and a RCA DSS reciever. I am new to this universal remote thing so I have several questions. I just purchased a Cinema 7 remote and the up channel will not operate for the RCA dss receiver, I was also looking at a Radioshack remote but have gotten the impression from this site that the remotes are very similar, if so will either of them operate a RCA receiver? Also can the cinema7 remote switch between the different features on my amplifier such as CD,VCR1,Tuner,Tape, etc.
How do learing remotes work? If you have your original remote can you "teach" a learning remote the functions that you want it to perform.
Are there other remotes out there in the $15 to 30 dollar range that will work with these systems?
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
