The remote control ONLY emits IR! In order to utilize the X-10 control, you MUST purchase an IR543 to recieve the IR commands. The IR543 responds to infrared signals from the infrared remote, then transmits equivalent X10 commands to X10 compatible receivers in your home. You can only control 16 devices on 1 house code.
