I just picked up the Radio Shack 1994 remote today so i can't compare yet. But, my problem was, I already owned the 8080 AV/8 and there were a few things that couldnt do. Then I bought an learning 8800IQ, was able to do everything but I hated the volume controls, the key feel was terrible compared to the 8080. Now Im going to try the 1994 model and return the 8800 if it works out. (I never use the timed macros) so i dont need the display/clock. But i'll definitely put the Radio Shack to it's test. I have the following devices (hopefully the 8080 codes will work, otherwise im screwed until i can call support on monday).

Onkyo Receiver, Hughes Digital VCR, Hughes DSS, JVC VCR, Kenwood CD changer, Panasonic TV. i'll come bacj in a few days and post my findings..
