You can't control the Firecracker unit with the remote. Firecracker uses RF (radio frequency) & the remote uses IR (infared). You can get an IR543 a.k.a. 4040 that will recieve the IR signals from the remote and will control your lights. Currently, the IR543 is priced at $20.39 from Worthington. Here's a link:
