We have this same model (came with our JVC HR-VP673U) but to reduce clutter, we've been using a universal remote for the past several years instead. Recently, I needed a function not available on the UR, so I got out the LP20303-008. For some reason, the VCR no longer responds to it, though it is apparently sending (its IR-LED flashes when viewed with a digital camera). Any thoughts as to why the VCR works fine with the UR, but not with its own OEM remote?
