I, too purchased the Sony. A few days later I purchased the Home Theater SL-9000. The Sony is going back. The ONLY reason to have an LCD remote is for flexibility from component to component. The Sony falls way short there. I filled up every available key on the DVD component and still didn't have all of my functions available, not to mention that I had to program some things onto keys that made absolutely no sense. The kicker is that my DVD is a Sony!!

The unit's too big, you can't read the screen without the backlight. The least Sony could have done is have the backlight come on automatically when any key is pressed, since you have to use it.

For my money, and the same $100, I would highly recommend the SL-9000 over the Sony. Especially if you have a DISH network system, since the SL-9000 has codes built in for Echostar, and the buttons actually match the DISH receiver.
