Some think the dimming controls are too slow on the av3000, I haven't heard about av3100, learning it from another remote usually cures it.
The only drawback is changing back to RF, after you switch back, you need to enter the housecode. To change from IR to RF:
1. press and hold SET UP
2. press X10
3. enter 0-1-3
If you're using A house code, you don't have to do anything, but for B through L, you need to enter it. B is 2, through L is 12. So if you're say using K:
1. press x10
2. press and hold SET UP
3. enter 1-1
