Steve (and others),

I too have an X-10 remote, the X-10 Powerhouse 6-in-1 remote (very similar to your Radio Schack remote). I understand that I will need the X-10 IR Command Console to accept X-10 IR commands and convert them to X-10 commands over the powerline.

However, if possible, I would like to be able to send RF commands from a "global" remote (the Pronto?), including X-10 commands. If the Pronto could send RF commands, including the X-10 RF commands that your and mine 6-in-1 remote sends, we could use the existing X-10 RF transceiver(s) that accept these X-10 commands and the remote could be used anywhere in the house! I am familar with the RF pyramid's that one could use throughout the house for tranmitting via RF, but I am trying to avoid using these as well as having separate IR sensors in every room in the house (this can get $$$!).

From this thread, it sounds like the Pronto can not be programmed to send both RF and IR, similar to how our 6-in-1 remote sends both signals(for X-10 only).

Does anyone else know of a remote that could be programmed to send both IR AND RF on a per source (e.g., CD, tuner, receiver, TV, etc...) basis? Perhaps this is not available for some technical reason, but it seems like this functionality would be very useful in the design of a "global" remote such as the Pronto? Thanks,

Joe
