I had no problem teaching my Sony RM-AV2000 X-10 remote codes. I used my Radio Shack 15-1919T 6 in 1 Remote Control System with IR receiver to teach my new remote. I have access to on, off, dim, bright, all lights on, all lights off, etc. I can even us it to activate X-10 macros via my CM11 interface.

I don't see any reason why this should not work with any learning remote as long as you have the e IR receiver.
