I have always liked URC mostly because of the support that Mike of Surf Remote gave me. He will be missed. I went thru the ordeal that URC wanted. After entering the portal I downloaded the CCP software and when I tried to install it I got an error and the installation aborted, so I reverted back to what I had.

This may become a mute issue for me. When I went to shop for a new TV, mostly from RTings ratings, not one had IR control. They all used Bluetooth. I sent a message to URC tech support and asked if they intend to support Bluetooh in their upcoming complete control lineup. They responded and said that they have no intention to support Bluetooth. As more and more stuff goes the way of Bluetooth and RF, that will knock out URC for me.

Got the Sofabaton U1 and it worked. Their upcoming X1 may be the one to get.

Except for trying to learn RS232, what are some of your recommendations.
