In the Sonos controller display About My System and check Audio In for ARC. This will not fix anything, but it will show the audio format that ARC is attempting to process.
I've seen this on BEAM with a Sony set. Since we were not using surround speakers I switched to the TOSLINK connection method. A SONY rep suggested that I turn OFF the SONY's eARC feature, but I did not try this.
