The Tech Pac and Tech Pac LT are really sweet.  Both sides open. I only have the Tech Pac LT on hand, otherwise I'd do a quick video for you.  To answer your question, I don't thing the Tech Pac would hold as much as the XL, just because you could go bat shit crazy stuffing an XL if you wanted to and since you're not putting it on your back, it wouldn't be uncomfortable...But it would be close.
