From a tech point of you, what is the issue? It is a sealed cabinet, with interactions between the resonant frequency of the woofer and the volume of the cabinet. Like a bookshelf speaker with an odd shape. No reason it could not sound just fine.
If the fact that it looks like a plastic rock irritates you, I can understand that. That does not mean it cannot be made to sound decent.
That's true, there is no reason why it couldn't sound good...it's just that I don't think any of the manufacturers of rock-looking speakers put any effort into making them sound any more than OK.
