As mentioned above, URC has a waterproof remote. But this isn't the only use for 3rd party remotes. The options given by Control4 have been pretty sparse. You have the SR260 and the Neeo. You all know how I feel about the Neeo.

So, if you want more control, more buttons and more options in a standard remote form-factor, then a 3rd party remote is the way to go. Unfortunately, Control4 changed the IR sensor on their controllers after the HC200-HC500 series and this was no longer possible. The good news is that Control4 left the IR code in Composer, so we can take advantage of it.

I used a company called Sealoc to "waterproof" an SR-260. It's been used with a TV at a hot tub for about a year now - not sure if it's ever taken a bath or not!
