Thanks for that, though alas that code is moving the volume setting by more than the old one rather than less. And that's with the duration set at 0.02s, so not much scope for a shorter transmit time.

It's frustrating, but I wonder whether I am just going to have to live with it - the previous amp could be adjusted in 0.5dB increments, so I'm used to that degree of control!
