I have done similar setup with Sony TVs, Samsung TVs, and LG TVs, Apple TV, and several different soundbars....Klipsch and SONOS Beam being the only ones we supplied. Probably some samsung or LG customer provided soundbars along the way. It seems to work just fine as you say....using the Apple TV remote...or the TV remote if you hate the Apple TV remote. But if you have an LG TV, both remotes suck, so put in C4. :)
As always, test before you sell. Or at least have a plan B.
