I agree - why buy a 4K projector and handicap it with a feature that can potentially cut the resoltution down so much. I only expect keystone on entry level theatre projectors where people 'plonk them' on the living room table / commercial installations where at the lower end it isn't about resolution much of the time. I don't believe Sony would have given you any other answer than 'this is how it was designed, and why it was designed this way'.
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers. #makesonosgreatagain
