1) You deserve what you get for selling a Sharp TV to begin with. Dear lord man!
2) Do NOT sell the entry level models of LG. For years now, the cheapest entry level LG TVs would sometimes NOT have discrete IR commands. There have been a few threads about this. The step up models are still very cheap (usually only 10-15% more than that entry level) and have discrete IR.
3) Game console and 'preferred'. That is an EXTREMELY bias statement. There is NOT a preferred console, as both do very well and have their following. With many people getting both. Plus there are always other entries from Nintendo to consider, gaming PCs hooked to A/V systems (more rare), and other niche offerings (Steam clients, etc.).
Lighten up, Francis! I sold one Sharp and by the time the non-discrete commands became a problem, it was too late to return it.
How is a question about a preferred platform biasED? Am I being gamist? Sorry.
"Both"? Now, who's being biased? PlayStation, XBox and Nintendo makes three and I'm sure there are others but I don't play these games. The XBox they already have has had issues and he asked about replacing it. The son also has a Nintendo Switch, but I haven't found out how much he uses it, yet.
