I’ve used a butter knife but that usually leads to a little carnage. I took one apart the other day using a spudger I got with an iDevice battery replacement. It’s easiest to start at the USB port. I don’t twist, I try to pop out the joints a little at a time. The IR window can be a little tricky to get apart, too.
