Read the email again. Comcast is ending support of the Xfinity On Demand App on the Tivo platform. It's an app like Netflix or Youtube. The cablecards have never allowed for on demand viewing which is why there was an app to do it.

Comcast is upgrading the app to a point where the Tivo hardware and OS platform can't be upgraded to follow it. That's what's being discontinued.
