Last time I worked with this box, it responded to the just about any of the TWC codes. Scientific Atlanta, AND Motorola. IR worked without any special setup.

Somebody else mentioned Cisco boxes, too. I decided to see if the URC database might shed any IR light on this.

Here are the URC codeset numbers, all of 'em, for products made by those "manufacturers" (most of whom OEM from someone else). I have highlighted those codesets used by more than one company. (And of course, those not used by multiple companies might have just been weird one-offs by some junior engineer who created something horrible that was only used once... you never know.)

Cisco 043 113 151 156 177 209

Motorola 002 003 008 009 010 069 074 103 104
104 109 110 111 112 120 151 152 206

Scientific
Atlanta 003 011 041 042 043 045 046 123 151

Spectrum 231

Time Warner 043 074

From this we see that 043 and 074 might possibly be the most used codesets. Thanks for suggesting that I try this. I'll dummy up a URC remote program with these codes, which should take about ten minutes, so I can try them out on site.

...and it took 13 minutes. I'll let ya know.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
