This is not a personal shot, but a post like this is not at all helpful.

Sony makes at least 4 models of 65" TV with "XBR" in the model number, the best of which costs almost 3 x what the most basic one costs. Samsung and LG also make numerous different qualities of TV. Making a claim that "Sony is better than Samsung and LG" is meaningless without specifying exactly what models were being compared. A top-end Samsung QLED or LG OLED is going to be better than anything Sony makes short of the OLED stuff.

I agree with your post, with the exception about the Sony OLED being the only thing better Sony has. I guess you forgot about the Sony Z series. For HDR performance it beats OLED, simply due to the light output. And it has better color accuracy, gamma tracking, etc. than the Samsung QLED.
I personally like OLED TVs better for overall picture quality however - uniformity, off-axis response, accuracy, etc. (the LG C9 series or Sony A9 series). Despite not having as much HDR impact.

To the original question: at that price point for size, the current Sony X850 series sucks! Do not buy that. The X850 and below line is Sony's throw away lineup and any of the other brands beat them at this price & size.
The Samsung QLED would be a good choice (although I despise Samsung) and the LG 8 series would be a good choice as well (the LG nanocell tech is about the same as Samsung's Qdot).
