That would indeed be great. Better would be if we could then sync the time code of two devices. How helpless we'd feel if all we could do is tell exactly how far apart audio and video were!

Normally, I would hope that you could infer that the usefulness of SMPTE time code would come with the ability to adjust for the differences but you seem to only know the difference between 'imply' and 'infer'.
